Hollywood Walk of Fame
Spanning 18 blocks and more than two miles on Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a public monument to popular celebrities in the entertainment industry. Conceptualized in 1953 by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president, E. M. Stuart, the Hollywood Walk of Fame finally came to fruition when it opened to the public in 1960. The Walk features more than 2,400 brass and tile stars bearing the names of actors, producers, musicians, directors, theatre groups, and special category honorees, and plays host to more than ten million visitors each year. Walk of Fame Star Ceremonies.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremonies are open to the public. Visitors can stand in the public viewing area to see the latest celebrity being presented with their star on the Walk of Fame. Star ceremonies are held at 11:30am, and are announced one week in advance. Visitors can call the Walk of Fame information line at (323) 469-8311or check the Chamber website for information.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is open to the public 24-hours a day, 365 days of the year. The legendary landmark is located at 6624 Hollywood Boulevard at the corner of Vine Street in Los Angeles. Visitors can explore the area alone, or join one of the many tours offered by Hollywood tour companies. The Hollywood Walk of Fame stretches for more than two miles, so plan to spend a full morning or afternoon looking for your favorite star.
